Kim Kardashian Wears Janet Jackson’s Exact ‘If’ Music Video Outfit to Singer’s Concert

Three years after acquiring Janet Jackson‘s actual costume from the 1993 “If” music video, Kim Kardashian finally had somewhere to wear it to.  On Tuesday (June 4), the reality star modeled the exact ribbed top and black pants worn by the “Together Again” singer in her 1993 visual to Jackson’s concert in Palm Springs, which Kardashian attended with her sister Khloe and momager, Kris Jenner. A self-proclaimed superfan, the Skims founder bought the outfit for $25,000 in an auction back in 2021.   “Can you guys tell where I’m going tonight?” she said in a video on Instagram Stories, showing followers a close-up look at the pants. “I bet you will never guess.”  Kardashian posted several more photos showing off the look, as well as videos of her and her sister singing along to the show. “I’m spamming tonight so unless you wanna see so much @janetjackson content I suggest you stay off my page,” she wrote.  The Kardashians star also shared a three-year-old screenshot of Jackson congratulating her on buying the outfit shortly after the mogul won it. “Thank u so much @kimkardashian!” the five-time Grammy winner wrote on her Story at the time. “I hope ‘IF’ gives u as much pleasure as it did me.”  In ’93, Jackson peaked at No. 4 on the Billboard Hot 100 with “If,” which marks one of 27 top 10 hits for the Indiana native. The track’s music video finds her performing sensual group choreography in a seedy nightclub while wearing Kardashian’s future collector’s item.  Jackson’s next show is slated for Thursday (June 6) in Chula Vista, Calif., after which she’ll make stops in Los Angeles, Anaheim, Sacramento and San Francisco. After touring through California, she’ll travel across North America before heading overseas for a European leg in September, closing Oct. 10 with a performance in Amsterdam.

Halsey Reveals Lupus & Rare T-Cell Disorder Diagnoses: ‘I Wasn’t Sure How Much I Wanted to Share’

When Halsey released her emotional new song “The End” on Tuesday (June 4), she wrote on Instagram, “long story short, i’m Lucky to be alive.” One day later, the artist has revealed the details about why: They were diagnosed with Lupus and a rare T-cell disorder. Halsey kicked off her Wednesday (June 5) post with a long caption for her carousel, thanking fans for the support shown for the new track. “I realize everyone is catching up with news I’ve held in for a very long time, and I wasn’t sure how much I wanted to share. You’ve all been so kind so I want to share a bit more,” they wrote before revealing their diagnoses. “In 2022, I was first diagnosed with Lupus SLE and then a rare T-cell lymphoproliferative disorder. Both of which are currently being managed or in remission; and both of which I will likely have for the duration of my life.” The Grammy-nominated artist revealed that things were “rocky” at first, but with the help of her doctors, managed to get things under control. “After 2 years, I’m feeling better and I’m more grateful than ever to have music to turn to,” the “Without Me” singer concluded. “I can’t wait to get back where I belong: With you all [silver heart emoji] Singing and screaming my heart out.” According to the National Institutes of Health, lymphoproliferative disorders (LPD) are diseases in which there is an “uncontrolled production of lymphocytes that cause monoclonal lymphocytosis, lymphadenopathy and bone marrow infiltration,” and occur in people who have compromised immune systems. A lymphocyte is a type of white blood cell “that is made in the bone marrow and is found in the blood and in lymph tissue,” per the National Cancer Institute, with the T type helping to “control immune responses” as well as help destroy tumor cells. Halsey has been open about her health struggles in the past. The artist previously discussed their battle with endometriosis, and in 2022, opened up about their Ehlers-Danlos syndrome, Sjögren’s syndrome, mast cell activation syndrome and POTS diagnoses. The “I Am Not a Woman, I’m a God” singer confirmed on June 3 that her fifth studio album is on its way. “There’s so much I am going to reveal on this record, but you need to know some of the story first,” Halsey wrote in a letter posted to her website. “So before the chaos and confetti of big singles and album releases I just need to tell you, my friend, why it all matters this time.”

Normani Says Being in Fifth Harmony ‘Took a Toll’ on Her Confidence: ‘I Suppressed It’

Normani is happier than ever now that she’s less than two weeks away from dropping her long-awaited debut album, but back in her Fifth Harmony days, she definitely wasn’t getting as much dopamine. In an interview with Rolling Stone published Wednesday (June 5), the “Motivation” singer got candid about her bittersweet feelings toward her challenging girl group days. “I’m grateful for all of it, even the moments where I might’ve felt inadequate or less than,” she told the publication. “It definitely has a lot to do with why I am the way that I am.” “It definitely took a toll on my confidence,” she continued. “Would I do some things differently or wish that some things were done differently? Of course, but I also don’t want to sit here and make it sound like it wasn’t part of my story.” Normani first found fame after her X Factor audition led to her being placed in 5H with Ally Brooke, Dinah Jane, Lauren Jauregui and Camila Cabello. There were often reports of inner-conflict, and the Georgia-born, Houston-raised singer has been open in the past about the racism she experienced when so-called fans pitted her against her bandmates. “We were babies,” she says now of her former groupmates. “We were so innocent and I think that is the struggle, to your point, of just us having to face reality under very unrealistic circumstances. I always say we did the very best we could with what we had, so that I’m proud of.” “There’s so much that I don’t even remember because I suppressed it,” Normani added. “That’s just my way of protecting myself from having to deal with everything. But what I do remember is it wasn’t all bad. Like yeah, we struggled, but it was also really beautiful in what we accomplished together.” After many years of delay, Normani’s first solo album Dopamine is set to drop June 14. In the interview, she revealed that the record was partly inspired by Brandy — whose vocals are featured on the LP — as well as Janet Jackson. “They’re literally the reason why I do what I do and why I’m able to be in the position that I am in: Black women,” she told the publication. “They redefined the standard of beauty, but also just the standard in music.” “I’m f—ing strong despite everything that I’ve endured,” she added. “[Dopamine‘s] a testament to my strength and my resilience and my discipline. I’m a lot more sure of myself, a lot more comfortable. I’ve done a really good job at navigating and getting back to who I am and recognizing the beauty. I’m trusting myself a lot more.”

Jelly Roll Says He’s Having Trouble Booking International Tour Due to Past Felonies

Jelly Roll is hoping to bring his high-energy stage presence overseas, but he’s overcoming some “legal puzzles” first. The “Need a Favor” superstar sat down with Jon Bon Jovi for a wide ranging Interview Magazine discussion, where he shared that he’s hoping to tour internationally. “It’s funny, America has finally agreed to let me leave and give me a passport, but some countries won’t let me come because of my felonies,” he explained. “We’re working on that. I think it’s going to work in my favor.” Jelly Roll has been open about his past incarcerations, and uses his platform to help others overcome similar journeys. The star has been to jail dozens of times for various drug charges, stemming all the way back to his first arrest at age 14. Two years later, he was arrested for aggravated robbery and was charged as an adult, leading him to serve more than a year in prison and seven years’ probation. “I never want to overlook the fact that it was a heinous crime,” he previously recalled to Billboard. “This is a grown man looking back at a 16-year-old kid that made the worst decision that he could have made in life and people could have got hurt and, by the grace of God, thankfully, nobody did.” The star added that the birth of his daughter Bailee inspired him to change. At 23, while incarcerated for drug dealing, he recalled, “May 22, 2008. A guard knocks on my cell door midafternoon during lockdown. He goes, ‘You had a kid today.’ I’ve never had nothing in life that urged me in the moment to know that I had to do something different. I have to figure this out right now.”
